About Me

WHO AM I: My name is Toni Bratincevic, I was born in 1977 in the central European country Croatia in town called Split. During my first 20 years I lived in a small town next to Split called Kastel Sucurac. Since a very young age I was always passionate about computer generated art. I remember seeing some of the first rendered images on Amiga 500 computer that my friend had, those were the moments when I started realizing what I want to do in my life. I started my 3D exploration with 3D Studio 2.0 on 486 PC when I was 17 years old. During that time I had black and white monitor and I remember running to my friends place to see my images in color, I was just guessing what colors to use on my home computer. Later I started using POVRay where I produced dozens of images. Since my parents were not able to afford good university for art outside of Croatia, I decided to go to university for Information Science in northern part of the country. During the time when I was studying, I learned on my own everything about 3D graphics, sometimes staying up even until 4pm in the morning to absorb every bit of information I needed. My passion and commitment in the end resulted in good career, working for some of the best Croatian companies and best companies in USA.

INSPIRATION: my lovely wife Martina and my parents… thank you for everything, you give me everlasting inspiration, if I didn’t have your support I wouldn’t be here for sure, your love is my success in this life, everything else is just pure commodity and you are the essence!

WORKING EXPERIENCE:

2012 – present – Senior Environment modeler in Cinematic’s department at Blizzard Entertainment, Irvine, California
2007 – 2012 – Scene Assembly Lead at Blur Studio, Venice, California
2003 – 2007 – 3D generalist at Vizije s.f.t., a postproduction/production company from Zagreb, Croatia.
2002 – 2003 – freelance 3D Generalist on Tommyvideo project. I’ve produced many animated backgrounds on Volumes 4,5,6
2000 – 2001 – freelance web designer for company called Msquadrat. Company was located in Varazdin and we were working on international project called Medstoxx. I went few times to Germany to work there. My job was to create web pages and flash pages.
1998 – 1999 – freelance 3D animator on VTV (Varazdinska Televizija) in Varazdin. I was working with Maya on SGI
workstations producing some models and assets for commercials.

PRESENT: At the moment, my wife and I are living in Newport Beach, California. Far away from family and friends but still happy. We were given an opportunity that comes only once in a lifetime, so we followed our instinct and departed on adventure to US. After couple of years of working for one of the best studios in world, Blur, recently I moved to brilliant company called Blizzard, the makers of some of the best games in the world… I still remember playing Starcraft, Warcraft and Diablo when I was young, it was so much fun and today I am actually working for these guys, life can’t be better! :)
FUTURE:Who knows… I just want kids for now, nothing else as much as that. :)
